What is SoloWiki?
SoloWiki is a stand-alone editor designed to help Mediawiki users.
Some Mediawiki users may find useful to edit and preview text while offline. SoloWiki was created to help them: after typing a text using Mediawiki markup, it is possible to preview it as HTML.
Why use SoloWiki?
- you can't stay online to do a preview of your text
- you still have a 56K connection and you don't want to wait until the preview is loaded in your browser
- you like to write text while in a library, park or chalet and later put it online from university or Internet café
- you don't mind about the number of edit you do, you are interested only in uploading good content without making tons of minor revisions to fix mistakes or to beautify the text
- you hate to read all the discussions in Wikipedia village pumps, request for deletion, troll banning or whatever shows up in recent changes. SoloWiki helps you to avoid wasting time in your compulsive attitude of being ensnared in worthless flames.
- you don't know HTML markup but you know Mediawiki markup and you want to create HTML documents
